Iceland | Glaciers and Hofn

After saying goodbye to Vik, we began our drive into Hofn. On the way we were once again distracted by all the constantly changing scenery and of course the glaciers, it started out as a sunny day that was almost warm (but as you can probably guess quickly turned later on in the day which we sort of expected being it is Iceland and all!).

We stopped at a three glaciers if I remember correctly, the main one being the Jökulsárlón which was absolutely amazing. Then we went to the famous Diamond Beach which I loved, it was so strange to see large chunks of crystal like ice on the black beach, it made for incredibly beautiful pictures. After that and numerous other stops for photos we checked into Heidveig’s Airbnb. We dropped off our stuff and then went to Kaffi Hornið which was about a nine minute drive away. It’s a lovely little cabin restaurant where we ordered a burger and an oversized club sandwich. We later found out how ridiculously expensive eating out in Iceland is. For the burger and club sandwich it was $45AUD per meal (holy s*** balls am I right?!). Needless to say I think we won’t be eating out in Iceland any time soon…
